Biography
Dr Simon Williams is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Southern Cross Plant Science. He obtained his Ph.D. at the University of the Sunshine Coast (2019) after spending time as a Visiting Scholar at the Hawaii Natural Energy Institute and working within a commercial analytical testing laboratory. He completed his M.Sc. (2012) and B.Sc. (2010) at the University of Waikato.
Research
Dr Williams is currently utilising chemical fingerprints, sensory studies and machine learning to investigate and define the terroir of Australian coffee.
Additional research interests are based around the honey industry, with specific interests in the honey derived from the Leptospermum genus and its production.
