Biography
Jacob Yeo is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in coastal biogeochemistry at Southern Cross University, specializing in greenhouse gas emissions from Australian estuaries.
Growing up in the city state of Singapore, Jacob first obtained a Diploma in Biotechnology from Singapore Polytechnic in 2010. After completing his National Service in the Singapore Armed Forces, he enrolled in The University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia and obtained a Bachelor of Science in 2014 and a First Class Honours by Research in 2015, majoring in marine science.
Jacob enrolled into Graduate school at Southern Cross University in 2017 and graduated with a PhD in Environmental Management in 2022. He continues to build on his PhD work on greenhouse gas emissions from estuaries in his current role as a postdoctoral fellow at SCU.
Research
Jacob's research focuses on examining the impacts of geomorphology, disturbance, and their interaction on estuarine greenhouse gas emissions. He aims to constrain these effects in estuaries and upscale them on to the global scale.
