Biography

Chris is a seasoned professional with over forty years of experience in managing projects, programs, and portfolios across diverse industries. She is notably the first Australian to receive the PfMP (Portfolio Management Professional) certification, underscoring her pioneering status in the field. Chris currently coordinates the Master of Project Management program at Southern Cross University Online. Her academic and professional qualifications are extensive, including a Ph.D., PfMP, and FGIA.


Research

Chris's Ph.D. research focused on corporate governance, particularly strategic investment in project portfolios. She is actively pursuing further research in grounded theory and andragogy. Recently, Chris has emerged as a thought leader in the adoption of Generative AI in tertiary education teaching and development, exploring its implications and best practices.


Community Engagement

Chris has profoundly impacted social and community services governance, serving on various Boards and earning recognition as a Fellow with the Governance Institute of Australia. She maintains her relationship with the Project Management Institute, frequently volunteering for various roles. Chris also contributes to the Global Alliance for the Project Professions, engaging in thought leadership activities that shape the future of project management globally.

At Central Queensland University (CQU), Chris has supervised and supported masters students in project management research.


Teaching

With roles at multiple Australian universities, Chris is a renowned lecturer, especially in her role at Southern Cross University Online, where she develops future leaders in project management. Her innovative teaching approaches incorporate the latest advancements in Generative AI, enhancing learning experiences and outcomes. Chris's exceptional teaching methods have been recognised with a Teaching Excellence Award from the Vice Chancellor.
