Biography
Dr Alejandro Tagliafico is a Marine Biologist with more than 10 years of experience working with fisheries, marine ecology and aquaculture. Alejandro has post-doctoral experience working on small-scale fisheries of Pacific Islands (ACIAR funded project) and coral biology (RRAP).
Now, Alejandro has stepped up into the most important role of his life: father of Koa!
Currently working as Technical Officer in Marine Science and Aquaculture at the National Marine Science Centre.
Research
Alejandro's research interest focus on marine ecology, fisheries biology, aquaculture and coral reefs conservation. Alejandro has over 50 publications.
Community engagement
To increase the impact of science in the overall community, Alejandro directed and produced two TV series (13 episodes of 24 min each) related to fisheries and environmental conservation. Also directed more than 20 short videos of a wide variety of scientific projects.
Supervision
Alejandro has experience supervising honours and masters students.
Teaching
Alejandro has experience teaching Fisheries Biology, Physiology of Marine Organism and Biology.
