Biography
John is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Business, Law & Arts. He commenced academia as a lecturer in the School of Psychology at Western Sydney University, before accepting a research fellow position at Southern Cross University and then a lecturing position within the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management.
Research
John's honour's thesis examined a treatment for anxiety disorders and his PhD looked at learning theory and gambling behaviour. He continued to research in this field of gambling expanding to problem gambling and the role of game and venue design. He has been successful in attracting grants for his research and presented at national and international conferences. More recently he has focussed on the scholarship of teaching and improving student experiences with their education.
Teaching
John has a strong background in teaching statistics and research design across disciplines. He also teaches gaming management, service quality and organisational management.
