Biography
Dr Marie-Chantale Pelletier is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Science and Engineering. She has a multidisciplinary background and her professional experience spans both the private and public sectors, including work in tertiary education, academic research, the forest industry and a state environment agency. She has a strong interest in emerging perspectives on integrating economic and environmental information to support policy, investment decisions and new environmental markets.
Research
Dr Pelletier has expertise in ecosystem service valuation, environmental-economic accounting, economic impact analysis of production and consumption, input output analysis with environmental extensions, public policy development and evaluation. Her research explores new approaches to the measurement of natural capital leading to financial recognition of ecosystem services and assets. Her current activities involve working with water utilities and land conservation agencies to apply new frameworks for the systematic integration of natural capital into information systems, accounting practices and financial decisions.
