Sports clubs - Coffs Harbour

SCU - Netball Club

The SCU Netball club enters competitive teams into the Coffs Harbour Netball Association Wednesday night competition. The winter season start mid Feb and runs through to July, with the summer comp starting in August/ September.

SCU - Oztag

SCU Oztag enters competitive teams Coffs Harbour Oztag Competition on Wednesday nights at Coffs Harbour Leagues Club. SCU teams are generally mixed with all new and ongoing students welcome.

Rugby Union - SCU Marlin Club

The SCU Marlins Rugby Club competes in the Mid North Coast Rugby Union competition and has teams entered in both senior and junior grades. The clubs trains every Tuesday and Thursday nights at the CHEC Campus Rugby Field during the winter season with new students (Uni, TAFE and High School) and community members welcomed.

Cricket - Nana Glen Cricket Club

The Nana Glen Cricket Club competes in the Coffs Harbour District Cricket Association and has teams entered in both senior and junior grades. The clubs trains every Tuesday and Thursday nights at the Brae Street Oval during summer with new students and community members welcomed.

The SCU Breakers Football (soccer) Club is for both men and women on our Gold Coast Campus, the club is actively involved in developing the sport of Football on the GC campus and participate in local 5 aside comps, inert campus clashes and challenges, Uni Games and feeds into the Tweed United Soccer Club that competes in the Gold Coast competition.

Sports clubs - Lismore

AFL - Lismore Swans

The Lismore Swans Australian Football Club compete in the 4th division AFLQ League. They play teams surrounding the far North Coast such as Ballina, Byron bay, Korara and Tweed Heads. Training is Tuesday and Thursday nights 5:30pm at Mortimer Oval, Lismore. All keen Male AFL players welcome

The SCU Badminton Club plays every Thursday 7-9pm at the P Block sports hall on Lismore campus. It is a popular activity with many of our visiting International students and is a great way to meet other students. The club is open to people of all abilities and new players are welcome.

Netball - SCU Netty Rats

The SCU Netball Club is the largest club within the Southern Cross community. The club strives to promote a healthy active lifestyle and create new and long lasting friendships with new players welcome. The club boasts in excess of 110 players in 12 teams with many making the finals and grand finals of the local Lismore competition.

Rugby Club - SCU Gold Rats

The Gold Rats Rugby Club competes in the Far North Coast Rugby Union competition with teams in first and second grades and U/18s. They also compete in the Uni Games and the Byron Bay Rugby 7s competitions each year. New players welcome! Training is held at the Maurie Ryan Oval, Lismore campus on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 5:30pm.

SCUL Riders (Surfing)

The Board Riders Club holds regular competitions during the year at local surf breaks including Ballina and Lennox Head. They also compete in the King and Queen of the Campuses Surf Challenge and the Australian University Surfing Champs. This club is very active out of the surf as well with regular social events and parties. The club is also keen to involve surfers at Coffs and Gold Coast campuses.

SCU Swimming Club

SCU Cheer Team

SCU Mountain Bike Club (SCUMB)

SCUMB ride on Tuesday and Thursday lunchtimes starting at 12:05 PM at the Lismore campus. Contact the club for the meeting place. SCUMB also compete in community bike riding events. New members welcome!
