University Medal and academic prizes

The University Medal

University Medals are awarded annually at the discretion of the Academic Board (on the nomination of a School Board) to candidates who have completed the requirements of a Bachelor degree with first class honours and who at all times have demonstrated a very high standard of academic achievement. Current University Medal criteria can be found under Rules Relating to Awards - Rule 10 - Section 7 - University Medal and the Prizes and Medals Policy.

Academic prizes

Sample prize Academic prizes are available for graduating and non-graduating students and can be based on:

  • a specific unit
  • course or study period GPA
  • excellence in professional experience
  • significant community engagement

Prize winners will be notified of their success via email from prizes@scu.edu.au and can expect to receive their prize pack in the first week of April each teaching year.

Academic Excellence in Wills and Estates - $500

Awarded to the student in the Bachelor of Laws (undergraduate entry) OR Bachelor of Legal and Justice Studies OR Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Legal and Justice Studies with the best academic results in LAW00062 Wills and Estates.

Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand Award for Outstanding First Year Accounting Student - $500
