How do I view the timetable for my unit?

Select the option to view the Unit timetable:

You can find your unit timetables by using the School/College, Campus, Period and other filters to narrow your search. As you set the filters or search a unit code, the list of possible units will adjust to meet your selection.

The easiest way to find your unit times is to search specific unit codes (e.g. EDU10130). It's a good idea to know your unit codes before you begin the search process - if you don't know your unit codes, they can be found via the Course Search or Unit Search tools. You may see duplicates of a unit in the list of units if you have not entered a campus value. That's because a unit may be offered at more than one campus during a teaching period.

After selecting a unit you are able to view the timetable as either a List or Grid timetable. The Grid view shows all the teaching offerings for that unit in a calendar week. The buttons at the top left of the page allow you to change the week or select other unit options.

I'm not sure of the full unit code; how do I do a partial search?

In the space for Refine Unit List by Name you can enter partial values such as the name, part of the name or the unit number and then select the search button.

How can I look at my timetable week to week?

In either the Grid or List timetable reports you can scroll from one week to the next using the arrow buttons at the top left of the page.

How can I separate my timetable by unit?

In either the Grid or List timetable reports you opt to split out the report results or merge them using the buttons on the top left of the page.

How can I re-order the results in the timetable report?

In the List view of the timetable report select the up/down arrow next to the column heading.

How do I print a timetable report?

Use the Print button on the top left of the page and select the printer option required.

How can I see the classes in a room?

Select the option to view the Room timetable. You can look at the timetable for an individual room, a selection of rooms or all rooms for a campus. To select a range of rooms hold the ctrl key and select the rooms one by one. To select all rooms for a campus hold the shift key and select the first and last room required from the list.

Why is my search returning no results?

If the timetable grid is empty or the list timetable states 'No data available in table' then classes for your selected report options have not yet been scheduled.

Why am I getting an error when I search?

If the timetable report shows you the following error please re-run the report choosing fewer units or fewer rooms. The upper limit for objects to report on is 100.

'Sorry, you've selected too many objects to report against. The limit for this report is 100. Please try again with less than 100 objects selected.'

What does the class activity name mean?

Let's break down one of the classes you find listed to help you understand what it means:

The Class Activity Name is encoded with lots of information, each part is separated by the underscore character. E.g. for the activity name EDU10445_GCB_S3_1_1st Tutorial/1, the first section is the unit code, the next part is the location code (in this case GCB or Gold Coast), the next part is the study period (in this case S3 or Session 3), then the availability number, and finally, the Activity Name and Class Number are joined with a slash character (1st tutorial, class 1).

What does the room name mean?

Room names are made up of a campus code, a building code and a room number. Broken down this is what it means:

The Room ID indicates the level in the building and the room number. Other than for the Gold Coast, the first number refers to the building level and at the Gold Coast the first 2 numbers indicate the building level. The last two numbers indicate room number.

Why is there more than one occurrence of a class in the timetable?

When selecting your classes, it is important to know how many classes and what class types you must select (e.g. one unit may require one lecture and one tutorial per week for the teaching period, while another unit may require one lecture and two workshops). The contact hours for a unit, which identifies which classes you must attend, can be found in the Unit Information Guide.

My tutorial has Week 1,3. What does this mean?

This means your tutorial is not held every single week of the teaching period, but only on these weeks. Week 1 is the first week of session.

How can I see my personalised timetable?

Select your classes and manage your own timetable (lectures, tutorials, workshops etc.) from My Enrolment. Remember to check your class timetable regularly until the end of Week 2 of the study period as class times may change.
