Sacred Garden

This is a quiet corner on Coffs Harbour Education Campus (CHEC) that was given so that students and staff could find a place of prayer and meditation. The Garden is used for private reflection and for group activities. It also serves as a Memorial Garden for the CHEC. Feel free to sit in a shaded corner, or bring some friends to discuss the deep questions of life.

The Sacred Garden was established in 2002 by Rev Jan McLeod, the founding Chaplain at the campus. The rotunda, pond, paths and plantings were achieved as a result of the labour and valuable donations from clubs, churches and local businesses. The Garden was officially opened in August 2004. It incorporates a water feature to create an atmosphere of peace and serenity - water being symbolic of life-giving refreshment and healing.

A mandala was also constructed on the path in the garden following the award of a local council Arts grant. Mandalas are geometrical, designs and are used as a tool for meditation and reflection. You are welcome to come and sit and allow the mandala to help you shift the focus of your mind.
