Professor Shi Zhou is an exercise physiologist and has been lecturing in this University since 1991. He is currently the Discipline Lead of Sport and Exercise Science.
His current research interest is mainly in the area of neuromuscular responses and adaptations to exercise and training. He also has research interests in exercise testing, training and rehabilitation for selected populations, and nutritional supplementation for health and performance.
His current research projects include exercise intervention for improving muscle strength and balance control in older adults; bilateral effects of unilateral exercise; and traits of mitochondrial DNA in relation to endurance performance.
He has published more than 50 research articles in peer-reviewed journals and 110 conference papers. He is advising research students at PhD, Masters and Honours levels. A list of his publications is available at ePublications of SCU Library (http://epubs.scu.edu.au/authors.html).
