Ron Dowell , M.Bus (VU), GradDip. Organisation Development (RMIT), AssocDip. Personnel Administration (PrahanCAE), is a lecturer in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management.

Ron has extensive experience as a Human Resource Management practitioner and Organisational Change consultant having worked in areas as diverse as mining, manufacturing, pipeline construction, small business, insurance, finance, public transport and tourism.

He is a Chartered Member of the Australian Human Resources Institute.

He has major interests in organisational and personal change, and has worked throughout Australia with brief assignments in the UK. and the US.

Ron's experience spans both the private and public sectors, where he has been involved in both corporate-wide strategic change and change at the individual work group level. Research and teaching interests include sports tourism, tourism labour issues, tourism in the Pacific Rim, tourism development, special interest tourism, and management training and development.

Ron is the academic coordinator of the very popular Sport Tourism Management program at the university.
