Lismore City Council has been supporting students who live in the Lismore Local Government area for many years by offering the Mayor of Lismore Scholarships. In 2017 there were 3 scholarships on offer for students studying an undergraduate degree on campus at the Lismore SCU campus. Preference may be given, but not limited to students who have demonstrated achievement under conditions of disadvantage.

Selection criteria in 2017 was as follows

Applicants for the Mayor of Lismore Scholarships must be Australian citizens or permanent residents. They may either be commencing on-campus at Lismore campus in any Bachelor degree in 2017 or be continuing students who are embarking on their second year of study in their Bachelor degree.

Selection is based on:

Future students

  1. Academic achievement: a high school leaver or mature aged student who receives an offer of admission at SCU Lismore campus into a bachelor degree in 2017
  2. Studying full-time on campus at Lismore
  3. Must be a resident in the Lismore Local Government area
  4. Demonstrated history of leadership and involvement in the applicant's school and/or broader community
  5. The quality of answers to the general scholarship application questions

Current students

  1. Academic achievement: Successful academic progression in their first year of study in their Bachelor degree
  2. Studying full-time on-campus at Lismore
  3. Must be a resident in the Lismore Local Government area
  4. Demonstrated history of leadership and involvement in the applicant's school and/or broader community
  5. The quality of answers to the general scholarship application questions
