The School of Health & Human Sciences offers students a pathway towards professional registration as an osteopath.
Osteopathy is a holistic system of diagnosis and manual therapy used to treat musculo-skeletal problems and other functional disorders of the body. In Australia, osteopaths are registered as primary care practitioners. Entry level training in osteopathic medicine in Australia is accredited by the Osteopathy Board of Australia.
For students interested in pursuing a career in osteopathy, five years of education and training is required. Southern Cross University offers the first component - the three-year Bachelor of Clinical Sciences. The second component is our two-year Master of Osteopathic Medicine which is accredited by the Osteopathy Board of Australia.
