Support for Indigenous students
Southern Cross University community acknowledges we are located on the lands of the Bundjalung Nation and Gumbaynggirr Nations and pays respect to all Aboriginal people both past and present.
At Southern Cross University we are committed to Indigenous education and are proud of our achievements. The University offers a high level of support and personalised service for all of its Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through Gnibi College of Indigenous Australian Peoples and Indigenous Australian Student Services.
The University has a wide range of Indigenous scholarships available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, including scholarships for academic achievement, relocation assistance and disadvantage.
Southern Cross University plays an active role within the community and strives to increase Indigenous participation in higher education through its Uni-Bound program and by participating in the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME), which operates at each of our campuses.
We also engage in significant national Indigenous events such as National Sorry Day and celebrate NAIDOC Week with a family fun day.
