The School of Education's Research Awards and Recognition Initiatives honours outstanding research contribution.

Award categories

Researcher of the Year - determined by the most number of registered HERDC publications, successful external grants and HDR completions.

Early Career Researcher of the Year - determined by the most number of registered HERDC publications, successful external grants and HDR completions.

HDR Excellence Award - Best ERA eligible publication by a HDR candidate as determined by the School's Research Committee.

Dean's Honours List - Undergraduate and Postgraduate students with a GPA average of 6 are added to the Dean's Honours List.

2016 Award recipients

Researcher of the Year

Dr Lexi Cutcher and Dr Sally Robinson

In 2015 Lexi has seen one PhD candidate through to completion, as well as six publications (including one book).

Sally has received three grants including one Category One and has also published three journal articles.

Early Career Researcher of the Year

Dr Anne Bellert

Anne has published both a book and a journal article this year.

HDR Excellence Award

Mr David Rousell

The title of David's article is 'Dwelling in the Anthropocene: Re-imagining university learning environments in response to social and ecological change'. Congratulations David.

The committee was so impressed with the calibre of the publications, they also decided to award a Special Mention Award to Antonio Canosa.

2015 Award recipients

Researcher of the Year

Professor Anne Graham and Professor Amy Cutter-Mackenzie

Amy has nine publications, including two books, two continuing grants, one of which is an ARC and one is a category two grant.

Anne has two published journal articles and nine continuing grants including an ARC linkage grant.

Congratulations to both Amy and Anne.

Early Career Researcher of the Year

Dr Sally Robinson

In 2014, Sally published two journal articles and has four ongoing grants. Congratulations Sally.

HDR Excellence Award

Mrs Tess Boyle

The title of Tess' article is 'Transitions to school: reframing professional relationships'. Congratulations Tess.

The committee was so impressed with the calibre of the publications they also decided to award a Special Mention Award to Tom Gyenes for his article on 'Is the essay dead? Revitalising argument in the era of multiliteracies'.

Dean's Honours List

The Dean's Honours List 2016 is a School of Education initiative to acknowledge outstanding academic achievement within the School of Education. The list is compiled from undergraduate and postgraduate students, including Honours and Masters by coursework, who have achieved a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 6 of above.
