Visual Arts Showcase

Study Visual Arts at Southern Cross UniversitySouthern Cross University is committed to providing visual arts students with a diverse and rich studio experience in an atmosphere that nurtures and inspires creativity. Students develop their skills working in well equipped, purpose-built studios and equipment - for painting, printmaking, three-dimensional studies (including ceramics and bronze casting), drawing, photography and digital arts - under the guidance of staff who are all practising artists. There are also dedicated on-campus exhibition spaces for students to display their works.

Opportunities exist for students to undertake internships with the dynamic arts industries of the NSW North Coast. They can also study for a session at universities overseas including the Pratt Institute in New York, University of Hertfordshire in England, Universitat de Barcelona in Spain, University of Massachusetts in the USA, and Kansai Gaidai University in Japan.

Each year, the Bachelor of Visual Arts graduating student exhibition known as TRANSIT is held in the visual arts building, V Block on Lismore campus, giving these emerging artists the opportunity to showcase and sell their final works to the wider public.

Southern Cross University visual arts graduates have featured in some of Australia's most prestigious art awards and their work regularly features in commercial and public galleries nationally and internationally.

Students produce works in a range of media including 3D studies, digital art and design, painting, photography, printmaking, and studio drawing.
