On the set of TV talent search show The Voice, Scott had the dual role of music director and performer. He played keys in The Voice live band, performing with international music star coaches Delta Goodrem, Seal, Joel Madden, Keith Urban (series one), Ricky Martin (series two) and the contestants.

Scott moved to Lismore from Albury to study contemporary music at SCU. "When I finished school I knew I wanted to study music, but I didn't know what. A lot of universities tailored to just one style of music, but at SCU the broad range of styles on offer just totally ticked all the boxes for me. I was able to develop a lot of skills in just one degree," he said.

Scott especially enjoyed the hands-on aspects including access to recording studios and performance spaces. "Using the recording studio was really beneficial. I stepped straight out of SCU into a lot of different studios in Sydney. It was natural to walk into a studio and start recording. I felt so at ease because I had so much experience during my degree. I've always felt that doing contemporary music at SCU was a big stepping stone in my career."
