Bright Futures: Alumni-Student Mentoring Program 2017
The Bright Futures SCU Alumni-Student Mentoring Program will assist students to gain valuable skills and real-world expertise. The program gives students the opportunity to make personal industry contacts and be mentored by a professional in their desired field/industry.
The Alumni-Student mentoring program aims to:
- Improve student employability and develop skills and expertise through mentoring.
- Develop relationships between students and alumni, possibly leading to future employment.
- Involve alumni back in the life of the university in a meaningful way.
- Provide alumni with a potential source of high-quality employees.
Mentor applications, eligibility and time commitment
Mentors are invited to apply to become mentors in this program and will be allocated to a Mentee, subject to suitability. Mentors commit to a minimum of 3 scheduled contacts with their Mentee (via Phone, Skype or in person).

|8 August 2017||Matched Mentors and Mentees notified|
|8 August - 20 August 2017||Mentees contact Mentors to arrange first meeting (phone, Skype or face to face)|
|August 2017||Complete first Mentor and Mentee meeting|
|September 2017||Complete second Mentor and Mentee meeting|
|October 2017||Complete final Mentor and Mentee meeting|
|3 November 2017||Bright Futures program concludes|
|November 2017||Return Bright Futures evaluation and feedback to program coordinator|
Mentee applications will be open from 17 July to 6 August 2017.
