Leadership and management

Leadership and management at SCU is all about being the best and leading the best.

Strong leaders raise the capability of their staff by continuously developing both themselves and others. They also provide the impetus for creating a culture where learning is valued and where knowledge is actively managed.

True leaders are experts in giving and receiving feedback and helping others to improve through coaching and mentoring.

To help our leaders be the best, a Leadership Capability Framework (LCF) has been developed, specially tailored to SCU needs. It provides a shared understanding of what leadership means at SCU, identifies the expectations of our leaders, and provides a career development pathway for those who aspire to be leaders. In addition to the LCF, SCU has in place a compulsory management development suite of programs for existing employees who have been promoted and supervise others and supervisors who are new to SCU.

Programs to build leadership, management and supervisory capability are advertised in Professional learning .
